HISTORIC LUXURY CONDOS DESIGNED BY ARMANI / CASA​

This place is incredibly cool; in fact, way cooler than "historic luxury condos" would suggest. An ultra-chic redevelopment effort kept most of the vintage bank styling from the building's time as 2 Chase Manhattan Plaza, with the addition of huge new windows, a bar in the old vault (including original vault door), and an underground spa / pool that might as well be a set for the next John Wick movie.

Like the building, this project was way more fun than it sounded. The Financial District used to actually be a cool place, and writing about the historic neighborhood helped me ignore the forest of Chipotles and Starbucks that have diluted (polluted?) that classic downtown culture. We had a lot of fun toeing a few lines of design + language, landing on a rock solid brand that speaks exactly to what is cool + unique about a place that is surprisingly cool + unique.
